Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Newberry Township, York County, PA, intends to adopt Ordinance No. 384, authorizing the participation of the Township in the PSATs Unemployment trust pursuant to the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental law, which Ordinance is hereinafter summarized, at a duly advertised meeting which shall take place no more than 60 days from the date of this Legal Notice. The meeting shall take place at 6:00 p.m. in the Newberry Township Municipal Building 1915 Old Trail Road Etters, PA 17319. The Ordinance  would confirm the  Township’s membership in the PSATS Unemployment Compensation Group Trust, which consists of governmental units from throughout Pennsylvania that have created an intergovernmental cooperative arrangement to permit participating employers to pool resources to satisfy unemployment compensation obligations in a cost effective manner. The Ordinance includes provisions addressing the conditions that must be met to participate in and withdraw from the Trust, the organizational structure of the Trust, the appropriation of funds required for the operation of the Trust, the authority of the Trust to enter into contracts and take other actions appropriate to carry out the purposes of the Trust, and the effective date of January 27, 2015. Township’s participation in the Trust. The Ordinance also provides for severability and confirms that it does not affect any rights or liabilities existing prior to the adoption of the ordinance. It also references the Trust Agreement that governs the operations of the Trust. A copy of the full text of the proposed Ordinance may be examined at the Newberry Township Municipal Office, 1915 Old Trail Road, Etters, PA 17319, or the Law Research Center located at 45 North George Street, York, PA 17401, during normal business hours.
